MATTHEW LOMBARDO (Playwright) is making his Broadway debut with Looped. The play, which had its World Premiere at The Pasadena Playhouse, was subsequently performed at The Cuillo Center for the Arts in West Palm Beach and Arena Stage in Washington D.C. He is also the author of Tea at Five, the Katharine Hepburn bio-play which starred actress Kate Mulgrew. That production (which won the IRNE Award for Best Solo Play) had a successful run off-Broadway at the Promenade Theatre and continues to tour the country. Other New York credits include directing End of the World Party by Chuck Ranberg at the 47th Street Theatre; Mother and Child at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre; and Guilty Innocence at The Actors’ Playhouse, serving the latter two productions as both playwright and director. Regionally, he has directed the 20th Anniversary production of Harvey Fierstein’s Torch Song Trilogy at the American Stage Company and the West Coast Premiere of Mother and Child starring Tony Award-winning actress Ann Wedgeworth at the Coast Playhouse. His work has been performed at regional theatres across the country including Hartford Stage, American Repertory Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse and Seattle Rep. Having written for the television series “Another World,” Mr. Lombardo garnered a Writer’s Guild Award Nomination for Outstanding Achievement. He has most recently completed a new drama entitled High, which is scheduled to debut this summer starring actress Kathleen Turner.

ROB RUGGIERO (Director) directed the world premiere of Looped at the Pasadena Playhouse and subsequent productions in West Palm Beach and Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. Other New York credits include All Under Heaven (starring Valerie Harper), as well as conceiving and directing the original musical revue Make Me a Song: The Music of William Finn (Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Award Nominations). The show was also produced at the New Players Theater in London. Regionally, Mr. Ruggiero has earned national recognition for his work on both plays and musicals, having received numerous awards including a Joseph Jefferson Award in Chicago, and currently has the distinction of being the only director to have received four Kevin Kline Awards in St. Louis. For Goodspeed Musicals, Mr. Ruggiero has directed productions of 1776, Big River, Camelot and the upcoming production of Annie Get Your Gun. Most notably, he conceived and directed the highly popular Ella (starring Tina Fabrique), which continues to play major regional theaters across the country. MICHAEL HOOKER (Sound Design) is thrilled to be on Broadway with Looped, having designed the world premiere at the Pasadena Playhouse and for Arena Stage. His other regional sound designs have been at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, South Coast Repertory and the Kirk Douglas Theatre. While with Walt Disney Imagineering, he was media designer for Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo Disney Sea and Walt Disney Studios Paris. He recently composed the music for First Light, currently playing at the Griffith Park Planetarium in Los Angeles. Michael created and presently heads the sound design program at the University of California, Irvine.
